The result is a modern and distinctive look that elevates the vehicle's overall appeal with a UV resistant clear coat ensuring your painted parts will never fade.
The way we do our chrome deletes is not like many other workshops. We have designated staff members for each step of the way, all with many years of experience behind them.
What sets our workshop apart with our chrome delete packages is the extent of effort we go to, to deliver a level of quality that will match what you receive from the dealership, so our work will tie right in with the factory appearance of your car to make sure that any packages you choose from us are professionally completed.
Most of the cars we work on are brand and new directly from car dealerships (even unregistered for predelivery chrome deletes) or just a few months old when we work on them so you can be rest assured when it comes to customising brand new pr beloved vehicles, Just Dip It has vast experience every step of the way.
The steps of our chrome delete packages
To allow our team to be able to achieve a flawless painted finish on your parts it’s important that we remove the trims off your vehicle. From small items such as badges and handles to larger items such as roof rails and window surrounds we remove and then dissemble these parts so that we can work on them off your car.
Removal does take additional hours but what it means is that we can offer you a very clean and professional painted finish - we don’t just mask up around these trims and paint them black while they are still on your car. We believe that painting trims on your car cuts corners and doesn’t truely allow a professional finish, so every single car first starts with the removal stage.
It’s extremely important to make sure that your chrome trims are prepped correctly before the paint stage.
Prepping the chrome trims will ensure the paint bonds to the trims correctly and offer you a durable finish for years to come.
Most commonly, parts will be sanded, followed by a primer and then sanded again before we start the paint stage.
All of our paint work happens in our spray booths. Each part we paint is either mounted onto a paint stand or actually hand held while spray painting.
Being able to have full access to the trims or hold the trims as we paint them allows us to achieve very comprehensive coverage when painting your trims so that no edges of chrome show through (which is why leaving trims on a car while you paint them is never a good idea if you want to get the job done properly)
Our team will paint the chrome trims with black base coat, followed my a clear coat. Depending on your preference the clear costs are either gloss or satin.
It’s always important to note that we follow this process for every single chrome delete package that we do. Every single package is painted, not vinyl wrapped. There is a huge difference between a chrome delete that is painted and a chrome delete that is vinyl wrapped. Click here to see the differences.
The type of paints we use are automotive grade and our clear coats are also UV resistant - meaning once your trims are painted they will never fade in the sun.
After your parts are painted and baked in our spray booth oven, we inspect each trim for any defects in the paint work or trims we believe could have been painted better.
If we’re not happy with how a trim turned out we will repaint that trim because delivering a high quality finish to our customers is really important to us.
If the painted trims just need some minor refinishing we go over the parts with a buff and polish them to resemble a finish we know you will be happy with.
After we are satisfied with the level of quality of the painted parts, they head back over to our assembly department to be fitted back onto your car.
Our body technician assembles and then reinstalls all of the painted trims back onto your car. This takes a few hours to a full day to complete depending on how many trims need to be installed.
Now we have reached the fun part where we get ready to present our customer with the make over.
We wash the exterior and clean the interior and cross check the parts we painted one more time. We double check all of the painted parts are flawless and the fitment is correct.
Once all of the above steps have been finished our chrome delete package is complete!
